This is My Shift — From Contractor to DIY Rebel

For years I’ve worked in construction. Custom builds, remodels, chasing deadlines, fixing other people’s mistakes. You name it, I’ve probably cussed at it.

But something changed. I’m not chasing jobs anymore. I’m chasing freedom. I got tired of the grind and started doing projects for myself. Stuff that actually excites me. The kind of things that help you live smarter, cheaper, and a little more off-grid.

I’m getting older and I’ve started thinking about what’s next. I still want to build things, just not the way I used to. I’m a carpenter by trade, but with all the new tech out there—and yeah, even with AI helping out—I figured: why not use what I know to create something different? Why not build a website that helps others figure this stuff out too?

So I started The Power Shed. Not to show off. Not to sell you some guru plan. Just to share what I’m learning, what I’m building, and how I’m getting closer to self-sufficiency one DIY project at a time.

This site is my outlet. And maybe it becomes yours too.

Let’s build cool stuff. Let’s screw up a few things. And let’s figure it out as we go.
